Intermediate Bogie Axle Assembly Group made for older machines that have the 20" frame for the intermediate bogie assemblys.
(1qty Axle, 3qty 10" Alloy Wheels, 24qty 3/8" Grade 8 Bolt and nuts)
Wheels are not assembled. End User will need to bolt wheels to the assembly.
**Bair does not manufacture a 20" width Intermediate Assembly for these older machines. One pair of 1" thick steel mounting plates are included and will need to be welded to the frame.
This will turn the 18" assembly into a 20" width assembly.
Grease Filled - Assemblys are Completely filled with grease, not liquid oil. New Factory axle assemblys have a single ball bearing that is greased packed with very thin grease. The rest of the factory cavity is empty and states there are no maintenance intervals- so life expectancy is unknown for the factory parts.
By being completely filled with grease, water will not be able to condensate which means no more corrosion on the bearings when properly maintained.
Bair Assemblys have a Shielded Grease Fitting for easy lubrication of bearings with a grease gun. It is recommended to use standard grease such as #2 for re-lubrication or something similar. Bair Bogie Assemblys have a single tapered bearing on the ends, the same heavy duty bearings that are in the Idler assemblys.
Purgeable Seals - When grease is seen slightly coming out of the seal, this lets the end user know the axle assembly is full. This style of seal also allows moisture or contaminants to purge out of the assembly but cannot re-enter.
Axles are rebuildable, including replacement Steel Internal Shafts. End user can install rubber factory wheels or upgrade to Bair's heavy duty, Heat Treated Alloy wheels.
